Dr. Jordan Brand is a physician with a passion for puns! We took a crack at her and here is what we learned:
What’s your favorite thing about your work?
I get to do what I can with what I have out in the world. Few health measures require such little equipment. My tools are always HAND-y!
What’s one thing not many people know about you?
From age 8-16 I refused to wear skirts for any occasion. I don’t remember why, but I had this huge resentment toward skirts or something: maybe it was because it was hard to run around rambunctiously without flashing everyone, maybe I felt like it made me weak, maybe it was because I thought they were ugly… the world may never know, much like how Mr. Owl feels about tootsie pops.
What makes you laugh the most?
Exhaustion paired perfectly with poignant puns.
What are you working to improve?
Time management.
Who is your hero?
Batman.
What would you sing at Karaoke night?
“Upside Down” by the A-teens or “Killer Queen” by Queen or “Ocean Avenue” by Yellowcard… really depends on my mood, I may even opt for “Man! I feel like a woman!” by Shania Twain.
If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Pizza – red sauce, steak mozzarella di bufala, and fresh basil.
What makes you feel accomplished?
Check lists, sweating in the gym, feeling sore, and patient success stories.
How do you spend your time outside work?
Discovering new things (coffee, stores, restaurants, foods, parts of town, hikes, beaches), baking, shooting around a basketball, volunteering at sporting events, dancing, reading, working out (every day, before work), reading, grocery shopping is very therapeutic and yeah…that looks like a lot, but each weekend is different and I want to challenge myself when I can.
What’s a skill you’d like to learn?
Well I took a stab at learning the guitar when I was 12, I think I’d like to get that dexterity down.
