Jon’s originally from Chicago and when he’s not pushing terabytes of data from one server to another, he loves pushing the limits in endurance races. The question he asks himself is always how far and how long? Since 2007, that question has brought him to the finish line of 12 marathons, 3 half Ironmans, and 1 full Ironman. His commitment to endurance races has been fueled by bringing support and awareness to the water crisis in Africa.
Here’s what Jon had to say about Velo Sports Rehab:
Q: What is your favorite thing about Velo Sports Rehab?
A: Maybe it’s the engineer in me, but I’ve been impressed by the way Dr. Adam Swick was able to answer all the questions I had – no matter how dumb it may have sounded. I never felt ashamed for the situation I was in, but felt like he was on my team and wanted to get me back on track as soon as possible.
Q: What activities do your treatments at Velo Sports Rehab help you to enjoy?
A: Most recently, I had come in with some lingering hip / glute pains that weren’t serious, but were annoying and kept me from performing at the level I wanted to. With Adam’s help I was able to recover effectively and run my 12th marathon in Chicago this past year pain free! And all with having begun treatment three weeks before race day! Looking forward to getting the support I need for future marathons and triathlons.
Q: What else would you like to share with us about your experience with Velo Sports Rehab?
A: For someone that wants to make endurance racing a permanent part of their life, I’m reminded of the African proverb: “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” This is a lifestyle that requires community and I’m proud to let VSR come around and support me and as a result have a direct impact on the lives of the people that have a new lease on life by having access to clean water.
